How Should It Change Me?

The final question comes with several additional questions attached. Jen Wilkin discussed this in her book Women of the Word (pg 98) and encouraged us to ask:

  • What does this passage teach me about God?
  • How does this aspect of God’s character change my view of self?
  • What should I do in response?

These are perception altering enquiries because we remove ourselves from the forefront and place God in His rightful place. Everything begins with Him and who He is. It then radiates outward to our understanding of self and actions.

The questions seem simple, but don’t rush through based on an initial glance. Really pause and allow your mind to process.

I’ll see you Monday to begin week 2, Chapters 2 & 3.
